Welcome to CitA Tech Live 2026
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the return of CitA Tech Live in 2026 — and to our welcome return to Galway, a city that hosted the CitA BIM Gathering in 2019.
CitA Tech Live 2026 coincides at a time of profound global change — and when we look back to 2019, the scale of that change is prfound. In just a few short years, our world has been reshaped by a global pandemic, geopolitical instability including conflict in the Middle East and Ukraine, supply chain disruption, inflationary pressures, and an accelerating climate crisis. At the same time, we have witnessed an unprecedented surge in digital capability — particularly in artificial intelligence — fundamentally changing how we work, communicate and make decisions.
For the construction sector, these shifts have been deeply felt. Supply chains have become less predictable, project delivery models have had to evolve, costs have fluctuated, and the demand for new skills has intensified. Expectations have also changed with greater emphasis on resilience, sustainability, productivity and certainty.
One of the most important lessons thus far in 2026 has been the power of collaboration. The Intleacht Series 2026 has shown what is possible when the industry comes together with a shared purpose. Through six focused events, it created a space for open, practical and honest conversations about AI in construction — moving from awareness to adoption. It also demonstrated the strength of collaboration across the sector — bringing together professional bodies, industry groups and practitioners from across disciplines to engage in a mature, cross-industry dialogue.
CitA Tech Live 2026 will seek to focus on breaking down silos, align disciplines, and work in more integrated ways than ever before. It requires trust, shared understanding and a willingness to learn from one another. CitA Tech Live 2026 builds directly on that momentum.
This year’s theme, Intelligence, Integration & Transformation reflects that shift. We are moving beyond isolated innovation towards a connected, data-driven and collaborative industry. Because the challenges we face — from housing delivery to sustainability, from productivity to digital transformation — cannot be solved by any one organisation or profession alone. They require collective effort.
We very much look forward to meeting our delegates, speakersand sponsors, to hearing their perspectives, and to exploring how we can work more effectively together towards a shared purpose — building on CitA’s founding principle that we are stronger together than separately.
We look forward to delivering another successful CitA event that brings real value, insight and collaboration to our industry.
